ZONK!

Sunday marks the return of Kids Adventure AND an new year of ministry to the LSCC families.  Twice each quarter we have what is called REMEMBER AND CELEBRATE with all of the LSCC children.  This is a time to think back on what we've learned and how we have grown.  But if you ask the children what highlights each Remember and Celebrate weekend, they'll tell you ZONK!  Zonk is a game that reviews the past six weeks of the Big God Story.  If you haven't seen Zonk first-hand, I invite you to come down to the lower level (first to sixth grade worship area) and see it for yourself.  It's a blast!

Well, Sunday is REMEMBER AND CELEBRATE for both Kids Safari and Kids Summit.  Each Remember and Celebrate weekend focuses on one of the seven festivals from the Old Testament.  This weekend we'll be celebrating the Festival of First Fruits.  This festival gives participants a chance to celebrate God as our provider and to offer Him thanks. First Fruits represent the celebration of the first grain harvest of the spring. One sheaf offering of grain was taken to the temple. These offerings were made the day following the Sabbath, which means it would be on Sunday. It marked the beginning of the two-month spring harvest. In the New Testament, Jesus resurrected as the first-fruit offering on Sunday, the day after Passover Sabbath.

To help prepare your children for their experience this Sunday, take a look at this week's HomeFront Weekly.  Be sure and take advantage of the suggested weekly activity.  This will help your child understand why we are celebrating the Festival of First Fruits.

Also, be sure to check out HomeFront Monthly.  HF monthly is packed with fun ideas for your family.

For those of you who attended our family worship weekend yesterday and took the six week challenge, HF can be a great tool to help you get started.  Please let me know how your time with your children is going.  I would love to hear your stories.  Send them to me at kevin.hartman@lscckc.org.

Blessings to you and your family as you endeavor to model Jesus Christ to your children!
